Lalu Yadav to return India after treatment, daughter Rohini makes emotional appeal

Rashtraiya Janata Dal (RJD) and former Bihar Chief Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav will return to India on Saturday after undergoing a successful kidney transplant in Singapore. Sharing the news of his arrival in India, Lalu's daughter Rohini Acharya posted a series of tweets and confirmed that the RJD chief would arrive in India today.

Rohini Acharya, who donated one of her kidneys to her ailing father Lalu Prasad, informed her father's supporters and well-wishers about the dos and don'ts to follow once the RJD chief returns to the country.

"Your love for daddy is boundless. For my part, I want to tell you all that whenever you meet my father after arriving in India, please be careful when meeting him. When you meet him, wear a mask and help us take care of his health", Rohini said in her tweet. In another tweet, she said: "Doctors said that even if you want to meet someone, everyone must wear a mask. Daddy should also wear a mask when he meets someone."

Stressing that her father must be protected from any infection, she went on to say: "One more important thing I have to add is that it is very important that my father is protected from any kind of infection as advised by the doctors." The doctors advised my father not to meet many people." Last December 5, Lalu Prasad underwent a kidney transplant at Singapore's Mount Elizabeth Hospital after both his kidneys stopped working and Lalu's daughter Rohini gave him a kidney to save his life.

Rohini Acharya's selfless act of donating one of her kidneys to her ailing father Lalu Prasad made her an overnight idol. She won the hearts of even Lalu's staunchest critics, like Union Minister Giriraj Singh. "Beti ho Rohini Acharya jaisi. Garv hai aap par...Aap udaharan hongi aane wale pidhiyon ke liye (May all daughters be like Rohini. I am proud of you...you have set an example for future generations)," tweeted Giriraj Singh.
